Juror/Judge of Selection & Awards

Kim Casebeer, OPA, PSA

Kim Casebeer lives in Kansas and draws her inspiration from the simplicity of the Flint Hills, an area of wide open ranch land in Kansas.

Kim received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Kansas State University in 1992. She worked as a graphic designer and art director and also studied with artists such as Albert Handell, Elizabeth Mowry, Scott Christensen and Matt Smith.

Kim’s work has been featured in a variety of art magazines including American Art Collector, Western Art Collector (2010), Southwest Art (2015), Art of the West (2011 & 2018), Plein Air Magazine (2013 & 2018), Fine Art Connoisseur (2014), and in the “Grand Teton and Yellowstone” section of the Art of the National Parks by Susan Hallsten.

Kim is a Master Signature member of the American Women Artists, and a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America and the Oil Painters of America. In addition to numerous national awards her Oxbow Light Triptych received the Superintendent’s Purchase Award in Plein Air for the Park July 2018, and is in the permanent collection of the Grand Teton National Park. Kim has also participated in many museum shows across the Western United States and has work in several private, corporate, and museum collections throughout the United States. She is represented by galleries in Kansas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and New Mexico.

Last year, 98 artists entered 312 works of art in the 52nd Annual National River Road Show. Twenty-one of these artists are from outside the state of Louisiana. The juror, Frank Eber, selected 70 paintings, produced by artists from 11 states, exhibited in the show at the Louisiana State Archives Gallery in Baton Rouge August 3 – September 29, 2022. Frank Eber also judged the show and awarded prizes to 11 artists.
